Obverse 1                                                 Reverse A

Comments: Appears to be struck from one to one transfer dies using a genuine coin as model. Unidentified base metal with silver color. Note the weak transfer of obverse central image and left date digits. The reverse exhibits huge die tooling lines. Weight is 2.2 grams.

This counterfeit surfaced at the Detection of Counterfeit and Altered Coins class presented during the 2010 ANA Summer Seminar. A Young Numismatist brought the seated dime for inspection and subsequently sold the bogo to fellow class member Bruce Breedlove. Bruce was kind enough to forward digital images.
